Exterior painting renovation: Grosvenor Road

A full exterior painting renovation of this semi-detached home in Wallasey gave the property a much-needed face lift and curb appeal.

Prior to the job, the property was painted in an all-over red masonry paint that had faded with time. The grey window bays were flaking and the paler colour meant the windows didn’t stand out from the rest of the outside.

First, we gave all the brickwork two coats of red brick masonry paint, to freshen it up and bring out the vivid sharpness of this colour.

Then we painted the top half of the house, which was pebble-dashed, with two coats of magnolia masonry paint. This was a defined contrast against the red brick below and improved the overall aesthetic of the property.

The window bays were stripped back and cleared of the flaking paint before being treated. They were then given two coats of black masonry paint which, against the red and magnolia backdrop, gave them a real stand-out quality.

All the woodwork was then painted to a high gloss finish with exterior paint.

The work done on this home took three days to complete and was an understated as opposed to a dramatic renovation. However, it was done sympathetically to the style of the property and gave a sharp, polished finish which really makes it stand out proud in its corner position.
