Master bedroom renovation: Bebington Cemetery

Considerate redecoration of this master bedroom brought to life the existing furniture, and statement artwork helped redefine the style of the room.

Projects such as this one are wonderful to work on, as the customer had some great ideas on the look they were trying to achieve and had a great eye for interior design.

They already had some beautiful pieces of solid oak furniture in the room, but their effect was being lost on the pale-yellow background and lack of a coherent theme to bring them all together.

All walls were rubbed down, filled and prepared prior to painting.

The warm tones of the furniture were contrasted perfectly with the selection of cooler Mellow Mocha from the Dulux range of paint. Offsetting warm furniture tones against a cooler shade of paint really brings out the colour of in both, and showcased the beautiful natural grains of the oak.

A feature wall was created by using a bold blue wallpaper that complimented the style of the room perfectly. All woodwork was rubbed down and prepared, before being finished with a brilliant white high gloss. With the addition of some on-trend grey tartan curtains and bedding, and some carefully selected artwork, the look of this room was completely pulled together into a cohesive style.

This particular project really showed that choosing the right paint shades and accessories can transform a room entirely, meaning a totally different style can be achieved with the same furniture on a relatively small budget.
