A two-bedroom renovation completely transformed the relaxing spaces in this property.
This family were looking to create a modern master bedroom with an eye-catching feature wall, as well as creating a more grown up vibe in their daughter’s bedroom.
Master Bedroom
We started by stripping and preparing all the walls and woodwork. The walls were rubbed down, filled and prepared to leave a smooth, even surface: vital for getting the best finish after painting.
The customer went for a Valspar endurance mix paint in a pale grey to compliment the colours on the feature wall, papered in a bold black and grey print.
For the woodwork, they opted for a classic brilliant white, high gloss finish. After preparing the woodwork with two coats of undercoat, the finish with the high gloss wood paint created a clean, sharp contrast to the walls.
This room took two days to complete and the final look was a stylish interpretation of the on-trend ‘new neutral’ grey colour scheme.
Second bedroom
The goal of this room was to give their daughter a grown-up space she could enjoy. We again started by stripping and preparing all the walls and woodwork.
This time with the walls, after rubbing down and filling any uneven patches, we also lined the wallpaper with 1200 grade lining paper. If there are minor imperfections in the wall’s surface that can’t be completely eradicated by filling and rubbing down, re-plastering may not be needed with a good quality lining paper, which is what we used here.
After the walls had been lined, we painted two of the walls in a dusty pink Valspar endurance mix paint: this colour perfectly complimented the pink and cream wallpaper used on the other two walls to create a soft and warm space.
All the woodwork was double undercoated and finished in a brilliant white high gloss.
The room took three days from start to finish and all that was left to do was carpet and add the furniture!
